By Baptism we become members of the Church, the Body of Christ. The origin and foundation of Christian Baptism is Jesus. By commanding his disciples to baptize all nations, he established the means by which people would die to sin – Original and actual – and begin to live a new life with God.

In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ's call to holiness. In Baptism, we are asked to walk by the light of Christ and to trust in his wisdom. We are invited to submit our hearts to Christ with ever deeper love. (from the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults)

Arrangements
Baptisms are normally held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month and can be held at both church locations. If this is the first baptism in a family or if it's been 3 years since another child was baptized, the parents will be required to attend a baptism prep session, which are held monthly on the 1st Tuesday.

Please note:
  • We baptize children up to 6 years of age. Please provide a birth certificate.
  • Each child needs a godparent. When choosing a godparent, choose a person who will care for the faith of the child.
  • A godparent must have completed the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion).
  • Parents who are having their first child baptized or who have not had a child baptized within the last three years are to attend a Baptismal Preparation Class which will explore the meaning of the sacrament and discuss how Baptism is celebrated today. Godparent(s) are invited to attend along with the parents. The Baptism Preparation Class usually occurs once a month.   • There is a donation fee of $100 per child for the baptism.
  • There is a $30 fee for the Baptism class.
